This is my second pair of Nylite Canvas sneakers. I do not know what the previous reviewer, J. Dunn, is talking about, because these are the same shoes that Tretorn sells on their site. I bought them here because they cost less. Quality as always, highly recommend these shoes. Light, comfortable, great for summer.

Let me begin by saying that these shoes are adorable. The elastic band is functional, making them easy to slip in and out of, but is also a nice detail that distinguishes the shoes from other similar styles. They look great and are comfortable. I've received many compliments.However, I've had these for only three months. After about five weeks, I had to re-glue the tread to the toe, because it had pulled away several inches. That was annoying, but not the end of the world. About three weeks after that, the rubber split on the side and this time it's unrepairable. I wore these a few times a week, not every day, and I expected them to last much longer.

I thought these shoes would be great but they did not fit right at all - it felt like the arch support was on the outside of my feet. The materials also seemed cheap and junky - not was I expected at all from Tretorn!

These are definitely not the same Tretorns that we wore when I was in high school! Not the same quality at all - the soles are thin, the canvas is thin, there is no terrycloth in the bottoms, the laces are skimpy and the overall cut is lower. They should hug your foot and mold to it when you first put them on - and what's worse - these are twice the price of the ones we had in the late 70's and 80's. Save your money and don't bother with these - they are not worth it - get some plain tennies at Walmart and be done with it.

I returned these shoes because of the flimsy canvas material with no inside backing or padding. All of the Tretorns I have purchased in the past were well made with sturdy construction and padded material backing the canvas outer layer. These provided no support and were totally unacceptable. The description of these shoes was misleading as it implied these were the regular Tretorns, they are not.
